EXTENDED WARRANTY – TERMS & CONDITIONS

Important: The dealer acts only as a facilitator. This Extended Warranty is a contract between the Customer and Policy Care.

Non-refundable Plan

“This Extended Warranty Plan is non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be cancelled once issued.”

1. GENERAL GUIDELINES / PRE-REQUISITES FOR CLAIMING EXTENDED WARRANTY

  • Policy Care and the dealer reserve the right to repair or replace any defective battery component, based on inspection and approval.
  • To avail Extended Warranty benefits, the customer must maintain the vehicle strictly as per the TVS Motor Company (TVSM) periodic maintenance schedule through any TVSM Authorized Dealer/Service Centre.
  • Warranty coverage continues only for the remaining period of the extended warranty even if parts are repaired or replaced.
  • All claims must be supported with Vehicle RC, Extended Warranty Certificate, Service History, and Original purchase invoice.
  • Policy Care reserves the right to conduct battery health tests, capacity tests, and performance diagnostics before approving the claim.

2. SCOPE OF COVERAGE – WHAT IS COVERED

The Extended Warranty covers the following components against manufacturing defects and abnormal performance degradation:

  • Traction Battery Pack (Lithium-ion/LFP/NMC)
  • Internal cell modules
  • Battery casing (manufacturing defect only)

Battery will be considered eligible for repair/replacement only if capacity drops below 70% of its original performance as per test methods.

3. LIMITATIONS & EXCLUSIONS – WHAT IS NOT COVERED

A. Misuse / Improper Usage

  • Parts subjected to misuse, accident, overloading, negligent usage.
  • Use of non-recommended chargers or electrical components.
  • Unauthorized modifications or tampering of battery, BMS, wiring, controller, or drivetrain.

B. Charging & Electrical Issues

  • Failure due to usage of non-recommended charger or low-quality charging sources.
  • Damage caused by improper charging practices, deep discharge, or power fluctuations.

C. Maintenance Negligence

  • Improper or lack of periodic maintenance.
  • Continued use of the vehicle after a known fault.
  • Using non-genuine or non-approved spare parts.

D. Accidental / External / Environmental Damage

  • Accident, physical impact, collision, or dropping.
  • Water ingress due to improper usage, waterlogging, floods.
  • Damage by fire, natural calamities, strike, riots, vandalism, terrorism, insects/animals.

E. Standard Wear & Tear

  • Normal battery deterioration with age and usage.
  • Gradual capacity loss above 70% capacity threshold.
  • Normal noise, vibration, or performance variations not affecting functionality.

F. Tampering / Unauthorized Work

  • Battery opened, resealed, repaired or altered by non-authorized service personnel.
  • Odometer tampering or non-functional odometer.

G. Other Exclusions

  • Indirect losses such as loss of time, business, or inconvenience.
  • Vehicles used for racing, competition, commercial abnormal loads, or extreme riding.

4. CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS / CONDITIONS FOR CLAIM APPROVAL

The customer must:

  • Follow all instructions in the TVSM User Manual and Warranty Policy.
  • Get the vehicle serviced periodically at TVSM Authorized Dealers/Service Centres.
  • Use only genuine spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Report any issue immediately to the authorized service centre.
  • Avoid any tampering or unauthorized modifications in the vehicle configuration or battery.
  • Avoid usage of unauthorized chargers, controllers, motors, tyres or electrical components.
  • Allow only authorized personnel to repair or adjust the vehicle.
  • Make the vehicle available for inspection when requested.
  • Maintain proper documentation (service records, invoices, etc.).

Non-compliance with these conditions will automatically void the Extended Warranty claim.

5. BATTERY DEGRADATION & REPLACEMENT POLICY

  • Battery capacity naturally reduces over time and usage. This is normal wear and tear.
  • A battery is considered for replacement only when its health drops below 70% of original rated capacity.
  • Replacement battery may be new, refurbished, or an equivalent specification unit based on availability.
  • Replacement does not extend or restart the warranty period.

6. CLAIM DECISION & LIABILITY LIMITATION

  • The decision of Policy Care on claim approval shall be final.
  • Maximum liability is limited to repair or replacement of the defective battery component only.
  • Policy Care is not liable for vehicle downtime, transportation or towing, loss of income, or consequential damages.

7. LEGAL TERMS

  • The Extended Warranty contract is between the Customer and Policy Care.
  • Dealer acts only as a facilitator and is not legally liable for claim approval or rejection.
  • All disputes are subject to Surat jurisdiction only.
